Heather Drew is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) living & working in Philadelphia, PA. Heather is a woman of many interests, working professionally as a psychotherapist, adjunct graduate professor, speaker, writer, yoga teacher, and podcaster. She holds a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling, a post-graduate certification in Global Trauma Recovery, and a 200-hour yoga teacher certification from Yoga Alliance. She currently provides counseling at her private practice in Mt. Airy, a northwest section of Philadelphia.
Heather specializes in multi-theory psychotherapy, with a strong awareness and practice of whole-person care. Much of her experience has been with survivors of trauma and abuse, as well as those living with various types of stress disorders. She also has experience working with people from from a vast array of cultures, spiritual backgrounds, and age groups. She collaborates with trauma healing professionals and volunteers around the globe. As a volunteer, she regularly takes part in engagement trips to help facilitate dialogue-based trainings for local leaders, helping professionals, and educators who work to proliferate healing opportunities in traumatized regions. In her personal studies and professional continuing education, she avidly pursues topics such as interpersonal neurobiology, consciousness studies, the wisdom of the natural world, practices that prevent and heal vicarious trauma in caretakers and helping professionals, and integral and transpersonal psychology.
In addition to her career pursuits, Heather is a woman who lives and loves fiercely – with whole body, mind, heart, & spirit. She manifests her intrinsic contemplative side as often as possible. This project –– particularly her weekly podcast –– is an extension of that life commitment to life as process. This is a space for authentic expression, for mindful and intentional living, for collaboration with unique & thoughtful voices, and for exploring this universe of wondrous possibilities.
